FAQ – Shipping

Where do the wheels ship from? The workshop is located in Finland, and that is the location where the wheels ship from.

Will the order be subjected to import duties (import tax and VAT)? No, as long as the shipping address is within the EU. As long as the shipping takes place inside the EU, the order will not be subjected to additional charges.

How long is the shipping time? Within the European Union, the shipping time is usually 6-9 days, depending on the destination.

Is the shipment tracked? Yes. We will send a tracking code to you by email once the package has been dispatched.

Do you ship to the UK or Switzerland ? Yes, to both. However, since the shipping destination is outside of the EU, the order is subjected to import duties (import tax and VAT). Sales to these destinations exclude VAT, and therefore the local VAT rate is added during the import process.

For UK customers, the import process will most likely be handled by Parcel Force. If for some reason you are not contacted by them, it’s best to get in touch proactively. The same tracking code that will be forwarded to you after the order is applicable throughout the shipping and import processes.

FAQ – Technical

Can the wheels be built with some other spoke model than the default Sapim Race?t Yes, certainly! There’s a good reason why the Sapim Race is the default option – that spoke model simply works. If you’re looking to have the wheels “upgraded” with Sapim D-Light – for example – get in touch by email.

Can the wheels be built with silver-coloured spokes? Yes, we have a limited stock of silver Sapim Race spokes readily available. As above, get in touch by email to get further details.

Why 3-cross lacing pattern instead of 2-cross? For several reasons. First, the 3-cross lacing pattern directs the forces more tangentially instead of radially which lessens unwanted stresses on hub flanges. Secondly, years of experience of building wheels with 3-cross lacing pattern can be transferred over to any wheel that leaves the workshop.

Do you sell individual wheels as well? In some occasions. Please send an email, and let’s see if the build you’re looking for can be fulfilled in a sole wheel build.

Do the wheels need to be trued or tensioned after a break-in period of some sort? At some point, yes. However, the tension loss should not be more than 5-10% because of the thorough stress-relieving process all the wheels go through during building. To maximize the longevity, and function of your wheels a service round is recommended in any of the three scenarios:

  1. The wheels have been ridden hard for several months.
  2. The spokes have lost tension.
  3. The wheels have come out of true.

What spares do you carry in stock? The answer depends entirely on the brand, and product in question. The spare part inventory for Onyx RP hubs is thorough, whereas for DT Swiss not so much since spares are readily available worldwide.

Can I have a different freehub, disc rotor mount, spoke hole count etc. thats listed in the shop? The listed wheel builds are from components that are found readily in stock. If you need something else, do not hesitate to ask by email! There might be difference in pricing because of the additional costs caused by shipping, and sourcing the components in general.
